Commercial sewing patterns are drafted for standardized body measurements—but few of us have standardized bodies! Learn how to make your sewing patterns work better for your unique chest and bust proportions in this informative Zoom presentation with Jennifer Stern.
Jennifer will help you understand why commercial sewing patterns often require bust or chest adjustments and how to determine the changes needed for a better fit.

In this presentation, you will learn how to:

•    Take and interpret high-chest and full-bust measurements.
•    Determine when a Full Bust Adjustment (FBA) or Small Bust      Adjustment (SBA) is needed.
•    Calculate the amount of adjustment required for your individual measurements.
•    Understand how to achieve a better fit through the neck and shoulder area while accommodating the bust or chest.
•    Recognize the basic steps involved in common bust and chest pattern adjustments, including FBA and SBA techniques.
•    Gain confidence in identifying fitting issues and choosing the appropriate pattern alteration to create a more comfortable, flattering fit.

Whether you are new or want to improve your existing skills, this presentation will give you practical information you can use on your next sewing project.

ASG is a membership organization that welcomes needlework enthusiasts of all skill levels and from many different walks of life.

Our Chapter is located in Santa Rosa California, and we have members from all over Sonoma, Napa and Marin Counties. And some from further away such as Medocino and Lake Counties. Members meet monthly either in-person or over Zoom. They can participate in neighborhood groups and Sit and Sews to learn new sewing skills, network with others who share an interest in sewing and related arts and participate in community service sewing projects.

Membership in the Guild gives you an opportunity to experience your love of any type of needlwork with others who share your interest.
