Stay and Sew 2025
We’re excited to formally introduce our “Stay and Sew” gatherings, held after every in-person meeting! These sessions allow us to make the most of our large rented space, and are a great opportunity for members and guests to connect, learn, and create together. These will function under the general guidelines as a Neighborhood Group.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
-Skill-Building: Every month will feature a different member-led skill building refresher or introduction on a specific topic, like various zipper installations, seam finishes, sewing feet, etc. Depending on the group size these can be one-on-one for interested members. The topics will be listed in that month’s presentation announcement.
-Community Time: Stay to visit, get to know each and catch up with fellow members.
-Focus Groups: Join or start small groups around specific sewing interests. For example, one member is considering beginning a sewing business networking group. Someone else has asked about starting a vintage machine group. The space is large enough to allow simultaneous, but separate activities.
-Help: Who among us doesn’t need it once in a while? Whether you have vast experience or just beginning sewing, we are here for you. If you need help with a project that has you bewildered, help with just pinning a hem, or to bounce ideas off another person, most of us are eager to help.
We encourage everyone to attend the in-person presentations, and even if you can’t make it, you are still welcome to join us for the “Stay and Sew” sessions, which typically begins at 1 p.m. and lasts until 4:30 ish.
If you have questions, suggestions for skill-building topics, or want more information, please reach out to Marsha Ashe.
We look forward to sewing and connecting with you!
